The Vision for Resilience

Episode 2.7 Transcript

In this new year, we have 3 strategies to share to help you stay grounded, focused, and strengthened throughout the coming year, regardless of what is happening around you.

Welcome to Episode 2.7 of the Sisterhood of Limitless Livin. Our episode is about vision for resilience. I'm your host, Dr. April Moreno. So today, it's still the month of January 2022. And we are still in the middle of a pandemic. There's so many people that believe various things about various aspects of the pandemic, and it's just exhausting.

This is my one podcast that we share about, you know, Limitless Living, Life Design and the power of the mind. So this is a place that gives me energy and strength, as well as what I hope to do , for my listeners, for our listeners in the sisterhood.

I just want to mention that in December, we didn't do an episode, it was just the time for rest. And I think it's pretty common everywhere that in December around the holidays, we were all really exhausted. And I definitely encourage people to not overstrain themselves, especially during no turbulent and challenging moments. And so we needed to take that break in the month of December for just rest and recharging.

Now we're here to come back and talk about a vision for resilience for the coming year.

Usually in the month of January, or even early to late December, early January, you hear a lot about vision, boarding parties and things like that, and planning ahead for the year. And then with various endeavors this year, we didn't do that I didn't have the energy to really plan a lot about things like vision boarding, or joining other vision boarding workshops.

I wasn't really interested in the idea of, chasing things like my husband likes to say, for the year ahead, I don't have the energy for the concept of the hustle and chasing something with full energy this year.

And if you're like me, I tend to have more of an empathetic view of how I relate with people. And in many ways, I feel like I'm a very sensitive person to the mood and the culture and the feeling of the way things are going around me, I often just absorb that. I am just very affected by it. And whether it's noise, loud, loud volumes of things,  different types of moods and different types of perspectives and energies, I do need a lot of time to recharge from these things.

This year, we need a new focus because of what's going on around the world. Because of the fact that there is a pandemic we are in.  I don't know how it doesn't weigh on people as much as it does on me that we have like over 800,000 people who have died from this pandemic. And it is heavy.

And today, I just wanted to kind of set the tone for the year here in the sisterhood and to provide some tips and kind of guidance on how to plan ahead for 2022 As we're still in January, and kind of the middle of the month right now. And so today I wanted to discuss three, three steps for for resilience and consistency for the year ahead. So if you're like me you might be feeling really tired. But you know, life is this way.

So what are we going to do about it? We will always be faced with challenges. Maybe not at this global scale. But we do have other challenges such as, you know, global climate change. How do we maintain our energy and our strength and continue with the things that we need to do to live a limitless life?

1. Decide Your Overall Tone and Mood for the Year

The first tip I wanted to talk about is to design your overall tone for the year. Being proactive and consistent and resilient, requires strategy requires energy, and it does require focus.

The first thing I do want to talk about is designing your own overall tone of the year. Some of the variations can occur on a daily, monthly or even quarterly basis. There can be different variations of that theme. What is the tone of the year that you've decided to have?

As you know, the Sisterhood is about life design. And regardless of what's happening around us, we need to be prepared from within. To have a perspective  to continue forward without the influence of confusion of "lostness", of being controlled by what happens outside.

Building that inner strength and inner focus, what is the design for the year the tone that you have set for yourself?

2. Decide How You Choose To Feel, and Maintain These Feelings

The second one is about how deciding you choose to feel. In choosing the image I'm using for this episode, I choose a lot of purple and a lot of gold. It's one of the Canva templates, and it just really stood out to me, and it does remind me a lot of Danielle Laporte's Desire Map planner her last one of her last planners from it, two years ago, and there was a beautiful cover similar to this. Her focus in that project was on the way you feel, for your desire map. In this step,  with tribute to Danielle Laporte and her work, I ask you, how do you choose to feel?

In terms of the overall theme of the year, we can move forward into how you choose to feel versus what being ungrounded by external factors that make you feel a certain way. When we talk about proactive living and life design,  from within,  what type of lens, what type of focus, are you choosing to focus on to guide your feelings?

What are you going to feel like today? What you choose to feel helps protect us from outside influences, and  disturbances that may affect us in ways that we don't want to be affected.

So it is up to you to decide how do you choose to feel in every moment, and to be prepared as much as possible not to be caught off guard.

3. Decide What You Want and Choose the Easiest Path

Then, the third tip for resilience and strength for the year and consistency is a third one that I think is really kind of powerful as well, focusing on the least efforts. So when you talk about the things that you want to feel, and your overall tone for the year,  we're looking into the things that you want to accomplish or achieve - but the word achieve sounds a little bit exhausting right now to me. We can use the word accomplish or just what you want to. Okay -  you can even use the word manifest if you want to in terms of deciding what you want to see in your life. In focusing on that effort from A to B, choose the way of least effort.

In one of our past episodes on Effortless Success, we talked about the book, Effortless, and a lot of this is very powerful, because you can achieve the same goal - you can achieve the same outcome in different ways. So similar to like a Microsoft Word or software application, there's often like five different ways to do something. In this situation, what is the way of least effort, the way of least effort to achieve what you need to do this year. And I believe that this is one of the secrets of quantum growth and quantum transition. You can get somewhere and a lot quicker and achieve much more results in ways that maybe you didn't originally envision by finding the way of least effort, that is one way to achieve quantum growth and quantum change.

In summary, number one was about designing your overall tone of the year. Number two was deciding how you will be feeling in every moment how do you choose to feel,   to protect yourself from outside influences that may affect your feelings. Focusing in on how you choose to feel. Number three, from A to B, choosing your outcome. Choosing where you want to go, but choosing the way of least effort.

I hope this information or these tips are helpful to you. as it is January right now, early in the year.I hope this message will be something that guides you and lightens your path over the coming year ahead. Take care.
